Argus's Security Systems are dedicated to pull out all the stops to supply our customers with effective security solutions to their problems.

As Wigans largest independent installer of security systems, we have the in house expertise to design and supply Intruder and Fire Alarms, CCTV, Door Access and Integrated Systems at competitive prices. We are an NSI Gold approved organisation and issue NACOSS certification for all our installation work. This ensures that your sytem is accepted by your insurers and can obtain Police response through our Alarm Recieving Centre if required.OUR QUALIFICATIONS

Intruder Alarms are our core business, we have been installing good quality reliable systems for over 25 years. All our work has been carried out to British Standard 4737 and now the new European Standard EN50131 and PD6662 : 2004. We first achieved accreditation in 1996 and have been designated NSI NACOSS GOLD since 2004. We have had a Certificate of Quality Assurance to BS EN ISO 9002:1994 and NACOSS Quality Schedule SSQS 101 since September 2001.

OUR ORIGINS

Managing Director Roger Wood previosly helped to build up one of the North West's most successful intruder alarm companies in the 1970s and 1980s. Oldham Security Services Co Ltd was a family business sucessfull over three decades. Roger's father Alan Wood had a lifetime of security industry experience and under his leadership employed over 40 people at its peak. In 1984 the American International Corporation Honeywell targetted and eventually puchased the company which had by then its own Alarm Recieving Centre. Roger tried working in Construction for a few years but was inevitably drawn back to the Security Industry and in 1994 purchased a small but well run company with a reputation for quality. Argus Alarms as it was known became Argus Security Systems Ltd in 1995.

OUR LOCAL OPERATING AREA

We purchased our Swinley offices in September 2006 after outgrowing our original Lower Ince premises. Wigan's proximity to the M6 and M61 provides an ideal location to cover the North West of England. From these offices we install and maintain systems from Lancaster to Macclesfield and Liverpool to Leeds. National accounts demand nation wide coverage however, and we are able to provide it in the best way possible. We are a member of a group of similar sized reputable companies located throughout the UK which have reciprical service arrangements. Our national customers know that all their branches recieve the best local service with the personal touch which only small local companies can provide yet still have one point of contact.

FUTURE PLANS

We have always been careful to get our existing business running smoothly before starting new projects . Intruder Alarms have always formed the core of our business and gradually CCTV, Door Access and Fire Alarms have been added. We now are happy to procede with the next expansion project which involves applying for NSI FIRE GOLD status. This will ensure that all our fire alarms will be certified by NACOSS in a similar manner to intruder alarms and CCTV. The trend in the industry is such that in the future only certified fire alarms will recieve automatic Brigade response.

HEALTH & SAFETY

Early in 2008 Argus Security Systems became accredited to the Contractors Health & Safety Scheme, CHAS. This ensures that we promote the latest saftey techniques to give less risk of incidents to staff, customers and members of the general public, Argus Security Systems Recognise the importance of Health and Saftey and are committed to promoting safe working environnments.

CONSTRUCTIONLINE

In 2009 we gained CONSTRUCTIONLINE membership. Constructionline is the UK's largest certified pre-qualification database, saving the construction industry over £500 million a year in administration. Already used by over 60% of local authorities, they reduce duplication and save time and money by encouraging organisations to use a single source for pre-qualification.
